Safety Glass
Tempered glass is a safety glass. It undergoes a controlled thermal treatment (tempering process) that significantly increases its strength compared to standard annealed glass.
Shatter Pattern
When broken, tempered glass fractures into small, blunt, granular pieces that are much less likely to cause serious injury than the sharp shards produced by annealed glass.
Clarity
"Clear" refers to glass that has no added color tint or significant distortion, allowing for maximum visible light transmittance and an unobstructed view.
Strength
Tempered glass is typically 4 to 5 times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness. This refers to its resistance to impact, thermal shock, and bending.
