Enhanced Strength
Only A-grade float glass is used by LYD GLASS to make tempered glass, which lowers the glass's rate of self-explosion. The glass will have 3-5mm round safety corners, a polished edge, and a flat edge. Employees won't get scratches because of the safety edges.
Our tempered glass conforms with both European (CE EN-12150-2:2004) and American (CAN CGSB 12.1-2022, ANSI Z97.1-2015(R2020), and CPSC 16 CFR 1201-2024) requirements. It will be packaged in sturdy hardwood boxes or steel pallets.
Superior Safety
Tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. When broken, it shatters into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards, making it safer for use in various applications.
Pre-Tempering Fabrication:
- Cutting: Sheets are cut to exact required dimensions beforehand.
- Edging: Edges are ground and polished. Frameless glass features 3mm-5mm rounded corners to avoid scratching.
- Drilling/Notching: All holes and cut-outs must be processed prior to tempering.
- Washing: Sheets are thoroughly washed with de-ionized water.
Thermal Stability
Tempered glass exhibits remarkable thermal stability, capable of withstanding temperature fluctuations ranging from 250 to 320°C. In contrast, ordinary annealed glass can only tolerate temperature changes between 20 and 100°C.
Tempering Process:
- Heating: Heated to 620°C to 700°C inside a carefully controlled furnace.
- Quenching: Rapidly cooled by high-pressure air blasts on both surfaces.
- Stress Creation: Outer layers lock in compression while the interior remains in tension, increasing strength.
Materials: High-quality float glass (clear, low-iron, tinted, or coated), air, and de-ionized water.

Tempered Laminated Glass
An engineered composite fusing the strength of tempered glass with the secure integrity of laminated glass. Two or more sheets of fully tempered glass are permanently bonded with polymer interlayers (PVB, EVA, or SGP) under controlled heat and pressure.
Manufacturing Steps
- 1Interlayer Prep: Trimming PVB/SGP films to match glass dimensions.
- 2Clean-Room Assembly: Sandwiching the interlayer dust-free.
- 3Pre-Lamination: Vacuum/oven processing to evacuate trapped air.
- 4Autoclave Curing: Bonding under 120–150 °C and 8–15 bar pressure.
- 5QC Inspection: Quality check for delamination, bubbles, and accuracy.

Glass Layers: Tempered pane thickness ranges from 3mm to 25mm. Total thickness can exceed 100mm for high-security applications.
Interlayer Options:
- PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral): Flexible, blocks 99% UV rays, dampens sound. Common thicknesses: 0.38mm to 3.04mm.
- SGP (SentryGlas® Plus): Stiffer, stronger, and clearer. Ideal for hurricane, structural, and blast-hazard glazing. Thicknesses: 0.89mm, 1.52mm, 2.28mm.
